What Are Colours Saying About Your Website

Is your favorite colour purple? Nice, so according to some researches you must be a pregnant woman, kid or a gay. In green painted room you feel more relaxed than in red one, right? Owners of red cars tend to drive faster than drivers of blue cars, statistics are saying. You may have some basics in psychology or marketing and you know that colours have actually meaning and some influence. If you do not, this blog is here to explain you what colours mean and how it affects message your website is sending to the whole world.

So what do they mean?

Black

For westerners it's color of sorrow and sadness and death. But imagine you are buying black BMW, do you feel like you are getting a hearse? I bet you do not and you are boosting your ego with luxurious car instead. Yeah, black is also color of elegance, power and luxury. Do you want your website look sophisticated? Choose black.

White is colour of peace, purity, clarity. Of course if you are not running business somewhere in east of Asia. White is sad colour, something like black for Europeans and Americans. But white is basic color for majority of websites and you do not need to worry much about using it. Most likely you won't ruin a day of someone somewhere in the southeast Asia, just because you chose white background.

Yellow

Sun is yellow. And what is sun also? Sun is awesome and we are happy that it's still shining on our little Earth. Sun in Teletubbies is also happy. So conclusion is, yellow is a happy color. Do you want your website look cheerful and joyful? Yellow is your choice.

Blood, danger, passion. Yeah, that's what does red mean. Do not be afraid to use it, but for God's sake do not make it background colour, unless you are vampire or your customers are vampires.

When I'm thinking about green, I see forest, trees, plants, grass. I feel calmer immediately. Try it! It's color full of energy. You see green logo and you may think "Ah they are really eco-friendly." Like Greenpeace for example.

I am blue. I'm serious, calm and reliable. I give you security so you will feel always safe with me. Wanna go out?

Pink

Pink is perfect color for moms with little cute soft babies and for teenage girls exploring secrets of make-up and for Legally Blonde from Legally Blonde 1 and 2. It's soft, sweet, romantic colour. If these types of women mentioned above are not in your target group, reconsider your decision to have cotton candy website.

Purple

Where you scared at the beginning of this blog? You do not have to run to buy pregnancy test or doubt your sexual orientation. There is a chance that you just like purple and that's it. Purple is also spiritual, royal and luxurius colour.

You like gray? You must be a man. Or maybe not. Gray is colour of stability, maturity, mental strength and authority. (What doesn't necessarily mean, that men who like gray are mature) Do you want your website look serious? Here you go, gray is totally fine to use. Are you targeting on men? Better choice than pink and purple mentioned above.

Energy! That's what orange mean. It's fresh, it's happy and youthful. It's warm and it's juicy. And when I'm thinking about orange colour I imagine sweet tasty orange.
